Gabions /Gabion box
Gabion box is a kind of ecological grid structure. Gabion mesh is
woven with galvanized low carbon steel wire or pvc coated wire by
woven machine. Box produced with gabion mesh is Gabions. The
galvanized low carbon steel wire used to weave gabion mesh has high
anti-corrosive ability, high strength and good malleability.
Material and standard:
For standard of ASTM and EN, wire diameter is different according
to the demands of engineering design. Generally, wire diameter is
between 2.0-4.0mm. Tensile strength is not less than 30kg/m2.Weight
of coated metal film is more than 245g/m2. For the gabion mesh
pieces, the margin wire must be thicker than the mesh wire. The
double-twisted wire must be not shorter than 5 mm, which can assure
the metal film or pvc film of the stranded double wires not to be

(2) Wire diameter:There are three kinds of wire that are used to
produce gabion mesh.
Mesh wire: 2-4mm
Margin wire: 0.5-1mm thicker than mesh wire

(4) Treatment of the surface:
Electric galvanized: The highest amount of zinc coated is 10g/m2.

Hot-dipped galvanized: The highest amount of zinc coated is
300g/m2. The anti-corrosive
ability is relatively strong.
Galfan ( zinc-aluminium alloy): There are tow kinds of percentage
of the two metal
elements. They are zinc-5% aluminium mixture and zinc-10%
aluminium mixture. The anti-corrosive ability is super strong.
PVC coated: The coated thickness is generally 1.0 mm. For example,
changed to 3.7 mm after coating when the wire diameter is 2.7 mm.

(5) Specification of the box: 4×1×1, 2×1×1 and so on.
(6) Partition wall: One partition wall must be add to the gabion
mesh every 1 meter in the
length direction. This is the usual design and that can be changed
to customer’s order.
Gabions can be used to support side slope, foundation ditch, swing
met for mountain body and stone surface, cultivate plant on the
side slope. It also can be made to produce separation fence for
railway and high way. It also can be made into cage and net pad
that are used to prevent river , dam, seaside from washing and dam
reservoir and river.
